Stanford is an American artist who was never formally trained. Instead, she traveled Europe in her younger years and painted whenever possible. Her work often accompanied her husband Frank Stanford’s poetry. She painted the first commissioned portrait of a First Lady, Hillary Rodham Clinton, for the National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC. Both “Joy Above Radiance” and “Last Blaze of Summer” were purchased from Leland Little Auctions in NC.
