Formerly a photographer in Charlotte, NC (and later Shallotte, NC), Janet discovered fine art about 15 years ago. She began taking workshops – experimenting with oil, pastel, collage, and plein air painting. Her early work in photography helped her to understand composition, the properties of light, and the importance of highlights and shadows.
The artist says, “During the pandemic, I fell in love with oil and cold wax abstract landscapes. It has always been a goal of mine to make art inspired by my travel photographs and the nature around me.”
