Originally from Michigan, Janette moved to North Carolina for a job after college graduation. She had always enjoyed the arts, but after becoming an art teacher had little energy for creating any art on her own terms.
Janette began creating jewelry several years ago after receiving some instructional books as a gift. She enjoys working with her hands and being able to see the finished product. Janette primarily works with recycled materials, sterling silver, copper and natural stones. Presently, she wire-wraps, but is continually trying new techniques.
When she is not teaching or making jewelry, Janette enjoys hiking, golf, yoga, tennis, and spending time with family and friends.
Janette holds a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Saginaw Valley State University, in Saginaw, Michigan.
