As a child, when Judi went to school, she wanted to make art whenever there was an opportunity. After college in Columbus, OH at Columbus College of Art and Design and also the University of Akron, Judi taught art for 25 years in public schools (in Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, and Georgia due to her husband’s transfers). She also worked as a freelance graphic designer and illustrated miniature books for Mosaic Press in Cincinnati.
Since retiring from education, Judi has focused on painting in both watercolor and acrylic. Since retiring to Ocean Isle Beach, NC, she has enjoyed painting the local shore birds. Her work has won awards in Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, and Delaware, and locally at Waterway Art Association shows. Most recently, she earned the People’s Choice award in the 2021 Waterway Spring exhibition. She currently serves as president of Waterway Art Association.
