I can't imagine a life without producing art. Every day, I see things I want to paint! Color, dramatic lighting, shadows – all these draw me to the next project. Moving to the Low Country has given me an endless canvas. Many of my paintings start outdoors with a camera to catch a moment – then I work to recreate it in the studio. I was born in the South, and have a love for southern expression in my art. Prior to painting full time, I taught high school art, and retired in 2019. My time now is spent trying to catch and paint the light and color in the beautiful gardens, marshes, and beach areas close to my home in Murrrels Inlet.
