After a 30-year career in state government, Mary moved from Vermont to the sunny south in 2014. She has always had her hand in some sort of craft from needlepoint to knitting to stained glass, but when she started taking classes with Jane Truesdale at Sunset River Marketplace six years ago, pottery became her passion. “Unlike other crafts where you have to follow directions and be exact, the possibilities with pottery are endless and you’re only limited by your own imagination,” she says. Mary works out of a small studio in the garage of her Sunset Beach home (thanks to her husband for sharing his space!) and focuses on hand built pieces, many with a coastal theme.
