Author Cindy Horrell Ramsey to speak at gallery March 8

Author Cindy Horrell Ramsey will speak at Sunset River Marketplace about 600 Letters Home, her poignant historical novel set during WWII. The event is part of the gallery’s ongoing Coffee With the Authors series and will take place Thursday, March 8 from 10 – 11 a.m.

Based on actual letters between a World War II sailor and his girlfriend left stateside, 600 Letters Home is the story of Georgia farm boy Roy Harrison as he joins the Navy to serve on the Battleship North Carolina, leaving behind his young love, Evelyn. For almost four years, letters are their only means of communication. Their epic love story unfolds in the midst of war and secrets.

Cindy Horrell Ramsey is also the author of the nonfiction narrative, Boys of the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA and the novel, Edge of Sanity. She lives with her husband in Southeastern North Carolina. Ramsey attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned a BA in English and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. She is published in fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, and is also a freelance magazine contributor and editor.

The gallery event is free, but seating is limited so reservations are required. Call the gallery at 910.575.5999 or register at the gallery’s website. Click the News/Blog/Coffee With the Authors tab.
