Author Jane Dill to speak at Sunset River Marketplace Nov. 10
Author Jane Dill will speak and sign books at Sunset River Marketplace art gallery in Calabash on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 10 – 11 a.m. as part of the art gallery’s ongoing Coffee With the Authors series. Dill’s novel, “Flora’s Wreath,” is the story of four women with a love of botany who embark on the controversial path of helping people end their lives with dignity. The events, though set in Victorian times, explore issues still relevant today. “Flora’s Wreath,” which is Dill’s first novel, has earned positive reviews, both for her treatment of the subject matter and for her lyrical prose.
Dill grew up in the state of New Jersey, where she earned degrees in psychology and medical arts at Fairleigh Dickinson University. After moving to San Juan Island in Washington, she developed an interest in native plants and became a Master Gardener, often writing newspaper and magazine articles on the subject. It was there that she also completed “Flora’s Wreath.” Today, Dill resides in Asheville, NC, and in addition to writing, is also a weaver and singer.
The event at Sunset River Marketplace is free to the public. However, due to limited seating, reservations are required. Call the gallery at 910.575.5999 to hold your spot.
