Retired attorney Otis Lee is the author of three books, the latest being “I Was Born in the Forest,” which encapsulates the freedom struggle of Africans brought to the Americas in slave ships from Congo, Angola, and other parts of Central Africa. Many defied the odds by escaping and establishing Afrocentric communities in the mountains of Brazil. This is the story of Palmer’s one of those communities and its mesmerizing leader, Zumbi. Join us as Otis Lee brings their story alive. As always, this is a free event, with coffee, tea, and breakfast treats being served. Seating is limited, so please call ahead to hold your spot.
