Would you like a deeper understanding of art? Do you know what you like but can’t explain why? Would you like to learn how to look at art with a more critical eye? Gallery director (and artist) Samantha Spalti has put together a one-day class that’s great for both art lovers and artists. Join her on Saturday, August 31 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. (with a break). You’ll learn to:
Describe art: what do you see? What is the style
Analyze art: this is about the elements of art – line, shape, color, texture, space, focal point, contrast, balance, harmony, pattern, variety.
Interpret art: what is the purpose or meaning of the artwork?
Evaluate art: what do you think about the artwork. Is it thought-provoking? Is it beautiful?
This will be a thought-provoking, stimulating class! We hope you’ll join us!
$35, nonrefundable.
