William West, a native of Durham, NC, left for 20 years, graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design, entered the ad business in New York City, Atlanta, and San Antonio and won many national creative awards. After selling his advertising agency business, William started painting and found that watercolors were his true passion. He has immersed himself in painting ever since and enjoys painting a number of different subjects. He has been juried into the Watercolor Society of NC Exhibition in 2017 and 2018 and in 2018 won the Windsor Newton Award.
Antique automobiles often provide subject matter for Bill’s paintings. These along with other Carolina scenes and roadside attractions are included in this exhibition. The show runs from Feb. 1 through Feb. 29. Leap year!
A public reception is set for Saturday afternoon, Feb. 1 from 2 to 5 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres and sweets will be served. Reservations are not necessary. Please come by to meet this talented and charming artist.
